Currently, I am physics PhD student at Imperial College London. I have over two years of experience teaching physics and maths. I focus on building a student's conceptual understanding and utilising basic rules to solve every exam problem.
"Made my revision feel so much more productive."
"Drastically improved my confidence."
"Matt helped me turn equations into understanding."
"He has a way of explaining concepts that is clear and makes sense."
"He was very supportive — there were no stupid questions."
I really struggled with A-Level Physics, especially as I hadn't taken A-Level Maths. This made many concepts difficult to grasp initially. After trying other tutors, I was so lucky to find Matt. He has a way of explaining concepts in a way that is clear and makes sense, using words and examples to facilitate my understanding. His patience and tutoring style made me feel at ease and I felt I could ask anything. I cannot recommend him highly enough!
Most of my sessions operate via Zoom, although in some cases I can meet in person. I focus on building a student's conceptual understanding and utilising basic rules to solve every exam problem.
Typically, I ask which topic the student wants to improve in. Firstly, we make sure the conceptual background is clear. Secondly, we work through a few problems together. I can provide problem sheets and past papers, or the student can bring their own from lessons. If the problems are still difficult, we take link it back to basics: I find making animations and diagrams is a great way to learn.
All major exam boards — AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. I can help with most stages of physics and maths; from GCSEs to the University level.
Pick any time that you are available and please tell me what you are working on. I'll text you back to confirm the session. Your first session and any associated enquiries are free.
